Confrimation Sunday Outline

Opening Song: God of Wonders

Welcome: Justin Jones & Michael Susman

Prayer: Hanna Darroll

*Lord’s Prayer: Bryan Wilkinson
Our Father, above us and all around us,
May your unspeakable Name be revered.

Here to earth, may your kingdom come.
Here on earth, may your will be done as it is in heaven.

Give us today our bread for today.
And forgive us our wrongs as we forgive those who wrong us.

Lead us away from the time of trial.
But liberate us from evil.

For the kingdom is yours and yours alone,
And the power is yours and yours alone,
And the glory is yours and yours alone.
Amen.

*Call to Worship “God Is” \ Grace Haring , Michael Nixt, & Lana Robinson

Leader: My sisters and brothers, God is! (Clap, clap)

All: God is. (Clap, clap)
God’s presence is with us whether or not we are aware of it,
Whether or not we feel it, whether or not we believe it.
God was here before we arrived,
So we do not have to ask for God to be present.
We simply have to awaken to the one who was, who is, and who will always be.
(Silence)

Leader: My sisters and brothers, God accepts us and loves us! (clap, clap)

All: God accepts us and loves us. (Clap, clap)
God accepts us and loves us whether or not we are aware of it,
Whether or not we feel it, whether or not we believe it.
God accepted us and loved us before we accepted and loved God,
So we do not have to ask God to accept us and love us.
We simply have to awaken to the love that was, that is, and that will always be.
(Silence)

Leader: My sisters and brothers, God cares! (clap, clap)

All: God cares. (Clap, clap)
All our problems are known to God, all our pains are felt by God,
All our faults are forgiven by God, and all our concerns are shared with God.
We are not alone.
So now, we awaken ourselves to the presence of God,
So good, so kind, so holy, so just, so powerful, so real, so near, so here.
And now, we awaken ourselves to the acceptance of God.
We accept our acceptance, and we love because God first loves us.
And now, we awaken ourselves to the care of God.
(Silence)

Leader: Wake up, sleepers! (Clap, clap)
All: Let us awaken! (Clap, clap)
Leader: Arise from the dead! (clap, clap)

All: Let us arise! (clap clap)
The light of Christ shines upon us!

Your Love is Amazing

V1 - Your love is amazing, steady and unchanging
Your love is a mountain, firm beneath my feet
Your love is a mystery, how You gently lift me
When I am surrounded, Your love carries me

Chorus
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Your love makes me sing
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Your love makes me sing

V2 - Your love is surprising, I can feel it rising
All the joy that's growing deep inside of me
Every time I see You, all Your goodness shines through
And I can feel this God song, rising up in me

Chorus, V1, Chorus

Breathe Deep
Politicians, morticians, Philistines, homophobes
Skinheads, Dead heads, tax evaders, street kids
Alcoholics, workaholics, wise guys, dim wits
Blue collars, white collars, war mongers, peace nicks

Breathe deep
Breathe deep the Breath of God
Breathe deep
Breathe deep the Breath of God

Suicidals, rock idols, shut-ins, drop outs
Friendless, homeless, penniless and depressed
Presidents, residents, foreigners and aliens
Dissidents, feminists, xenophobes and chauvinists

Evolutionists, creationists, perverts, slum lords
Dead-beats, athletes, Protestants and Catholics
Housewives, neophytes, pro-choice, pro-life
Misogynists, monogamists, philanthropists, blacks and whites

Police, obese, lawyers, and government
Sex offenders, tax collectors, war vets, rejects
Atheists, Scientists, racists, sadists
Photographers, biographers, artists, pornographers

Gays and lesbians, demagogues and thespians
The disabled, preachers, doctors and teachers
Meat eaters, wife beaters, judges and juries
Long hair, no hair, everybody everywhere!

Peace Be Still (Psalm 46)
Though the earth should change, mountains quake and seas rise above us
God is our refuge and strength, a present help in times of trouble
Though waters roar, thunder quake, and fears come upon us,
God is our refuge and strength, a present help in times of trouble

Peace be still, peace we find, peace you bring into our lives
Peace be still, peace we find, peace you bring into our lives

Though nations roar, kingdoms fall, and wars come upon us
God is in our midst, in our hearts, and moves among us
In times of need, in times of pain, in times of injustice
God is in our midst, in our hearts, and moves among us

The one who made creation, the healer of the nations, the king of liberation
knows our name and knows our face
Holy God of Jacob, restorer of the broken, hope of all the earth, and lover of my soul

Though the earth should change, mountains quake and seas rise above us
God is our refuge and strength, a present help in times of trouble
In times of need, in times of pain, in times of injustice
God is in our midst, in our hearts, and moves among us

Thy Nature and Thy Name
Creator, Lord of all
Sustainer, of my soul
Giver of dignity
To my neighbors and enemies
Redeemer of all creation
Sojourn to all depths
Set the captives free
You made strangers into a family
You made strangers into a family

Chorus: Thy nature and thy name is love
Thy nature and thy name is love
Hell, earth, and sin, with ease overcome
Thy nature and thy name is love

Creator of new beginnings
Sustainer of earth’s toil
Giver of hope’s true promise
To the out casts and least of these
The ending we move towards
Is an ending that begins in you
The last words you will speak
Behold I make all things new
Behold I make all things new
Chorus

Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer of all (x4)
Chorus

With Kindness
Christ has no body here but ours
No hands, no feet, here on earth but ours
Ours are the eyes though which he looks
On this world
With Kindness

Ours are the hands through which he works
Ours are the feet on which he moves
Ours are the voices through which he speaks
To this world
With Kindness

Through our touch, our smile, our listening ear
Embodied in us, Jesus is living here

Let us go now
Filled with the Spirit
Into this world
With Kindness
Let us go now
Filled with the Spirit
Into this world
With Kindness

The Language of God

Yo Youthers! This is our denominations new TV ad. It was 'too radical' to get on TV so the denomination is attempting to use social networking sites like facebook to spread the word. Check it out, let me know what you think, and spread the word if you can!
